Mom & Me Outfits with Flats
My baby started preschool this month and I’m feeling all the feels! I’ve been fortunate to have him at home up til now, and will miss his many hugs and smiles throughout the day. Nori (my big 1st grader!) on the other hand is thrilled to have little bro finally join her at school.
Wanted to share a few recent outfits from our outings while enjoying the cooler AMs in Boston. The kids still LOVE to match (with each other, with me and Nick) and I for one am embracing it since I know this won’t last. I can’t believe how much Rio has grown already since last Fall’s Mom & me post!
The “short” length on these Amazon trousers is just right on me with flats or sneakers. If I’m wearing a trouser look around the kids, I tend to reach for these since the budget-friendly price point and machine washability makes me less concerned about getting them dirty!
This A&F ottoman rib top was a purchase last month and has been a simple yet elegant layering piece. Love the higher boat neckline and how it looks under blazers and trench coats, too.
On Rio: Gap pull-on jeans, Zara tee set + sneakers
The easiest way to elevate a pair of jeans is with a slightly dressier topper like a cardigan jacket (how pretty is this red?) or tweed jacket, and flats instead of sneakers. I got these mary jane flats in the spring and am still as excited about them now as I was then! I’ve been wanting a second color like brown or silver for months, but have been resisting getting the same exact style. I recently tried on these Madewell flats and cannot stop thinking about them, so they might be my next flats purchase! The rounder toe shape felt surprisingly chic and the grommets add just a bit of edge.
These are the Levi’s Ribcage jeans I’ve featured often that have a sky high rise (which I personally love, but I know some find to be too high) and relaxed straight leg. The shorter 27 inch inseam is great on me with flats, so these have been a go-to jean during my city kids drop off and pick ups. My most worn wash is the “In the Middle – Light” color which has a lighter weight denim fabric that’s very comfy.
First day of school smiles!! Despite their endless sibling bickering, big sis has been such a source of comfort for Rio as he’s starting school. Kept wanting to hold her hand today and gave her multiple hugs and kisses before heading off to his own classroom!
